Cartoon decpiction of a Christmas tree being dropped into a recycling bin

Wheat Ridge Parks & Recreation offer a free Christmas tree recycling program now through the end of February for Wheat Ridge residents.

Drop off sites are open daily from sunrise until sunset at the following parks:

On site signage will direct you to the exact location of the drop off within the parks.

Please remove EVERYTHING (ornaments, lights, ribbon, tinsel, wire, nails, screws, tree stands, bags, etc.) from your tree before dropping it off.

Trees are chipped into mulch that's used in planter beds and around trees in City parks. Free mulch is also available to Wheat Ridge residents year round at Prospect Park.

Last year, more than 1500 Christmas trees were recycled into mulch!

Note: This service is for Wheat Ridge residents only and not for commercial use.
