Versatile & Convenient

Our Event Room is suitable for all types of events from small, intimate gatherings to large groups up to 250 guests. Enjoy the flexibility to choose the right amount of space, time and extras needed for your event. In addition to the Ballroom, we have two small activity rooms across the hallway available to rent.

To reserve the facility, the minimum age requirement is 18 years old. However, if alcohol will be served at your event, the renter must be 21 years of age or older.

  • Please note that the event room can accommodate 250 people without a dance floor and 200 with a dance floor.
  • Due to limited parking, our facility can only hold 150 people on week days (Monday - Thursday, and Friday before 5pm).

Note: Minimum 4 hour rentals on weekends. 

*Friday and Saturday evening events must end by 11 pm with clean-up completed by midnight. 

**Must rent a minimum of two sections for all after hour (after 6:30pm) rentals on Fridays. 

Set-up & Clean-up

Set-up and clean-up time must be scheduled as part of your rental time. 


Monday through Thursday and Friday before 5 pm:

  • Entire Room: $195 per hour
  • Individual Section: $65 per hour

Friday after 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday:

  • Entire Room: $285 per hour
  • Individual Section: $95 per hour

All Day Rental

  • May through September: $2000
  • October through April: $1800

Room Rental Price Cap

There is a "cap price" of $400 per section during the week, and $600 per section on a Friday evening, Saturday or Sunday. Note: This price cap is only for the rental rates - it does not include the deposit, kitchen fee or equipment rentals (laptop, microphone, projector, etc.). 

The "cap price" for the entire Event Room (all 3 sections) is $1,800 for all-day (October - April) and $2,000 for all-day (May - September).

Damage Deposits*

  • Entire Room: $300
  • Individual Section: $100

*Please note that rentals for the full event room with alcohol service require a $500 damage deposit.

Deposit payment is required to make the reservation and is processed immediately. The damage deposit will be refunded within three weeks after your event, provided no excessive cleaning is required and no damage has been done to the facility.

Serving Alcohol

Liability Insurance

The City of Wheat Ridge requires liability insurance for special events serving alcohol, with 100 or more guests. The cost of insurance obtained through the City is $125 for groups of 100 to 150 guests and $143 for groups of 150 to 250 guests. 

Police Coverage

Security is required for the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center Event Room if the event goes after hours (events that go past 6:30pm on Fridays and past 8:00pm on Saturdays only), alcohol is being served, and the event has 100+ guests. Security is required at a cost of $60/hour (4 hour minimum) and will be provided by a Wheat Ridge police officer.
